I painted in oils as a teen; as an adult I painted large murals and later turned to computer art. Painting taught me to truly see. Believe it or not, in my vocation as a hospital nurse that skill was valuable. I am a self-trained photographer.

Now I am working and living close to nature. The light, the seasons, the time of day, the clouds overhead, obscuring the sun, can change a scene in seconds. Sometimes I run to get my camera, only to find that it's too late to capture what moved me only moments ago! The effect of light on contrasts, colors and shapes is fascinating.
